Manna from guitar heaven for all fans and lovers of the Velvets, Only Ones,
Flamin´ Groovies and the West Coast meets the CBGB´s beat. Powerpop/garage/psych
band The Plastic Pals´s debut album ”Good Karma Café”
features guests as former keyboard maestro of legendary desert rock/paisely
underground band Green on Red on organ and electric piano and Sweden´s
number one Wagner tenor Lars Cleveman (ex-Dom Dummaste) on piano.
”Good Karma Café”, produced by Björn Öqvist (Pennebaker/Spaceage
Baby Jane) and The Plastic Pals´s singer and guitarist Håkan Soold,
was released September 22, 2008, on Polythene Records (distribution: Plugged
Records). Songs from the album have gained airplay on WFMU (Lou Reed´s
favourite radio station, based in New Jersey), WFNX (Boston), BBC6 (played by
legendary DJ Pete Mitchell) and has been on A-rotation on Radio ISA in Lyon
since October 2008, as well as on various stations in Belgium, Holland, Spain
and Greece. In their home country Sweden The Plastic Pals have gained airplay
on Rocket FM, the rock home of Stockholm.
